Winners of the EU4Business STEP2 grant competition are known
The winners of the “EU4Business Science and Technology Entrepreneurship” (EU4Business STEP2) grant competition were announced on Novmber 27, 2018 after a 2-day tough competition and pitcing in front of professional jury and mentors.
15 startup teams were selected out of 29 short-listed teams. The latter have undergone a series of trainings with mentors and coaches to improve their presentation and busines skills prior to the final selection. They will have access to funding of up to 15.000 EUR to implement their innovative business ideas ranging from prototypes up to already existing solutions and apps. that need further development.
The winning startups of EU4Business STEP2 competition are:
- Cyber Deceptions and Honeypot Orchestration System
- Forest guard
- Lift UP
- New luminescent coatings with high brightness and long afterglow
- Robin the Robot
- The Last Daredevil by Cyber Mantis Games
EU4Business STEP2 grant competition was announced by the “Support to SME Development in Armenia” (EU-SMEDA) project and implmented in cooperation with Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF).
EU4Business STEP2 aims at promoting entrepreneurship and advancing innovative technology-based ideas in Armenia. It is designed to help startup teams, innovators, scientists, engineers, researchers, and entrepreneurs to move their products to the market and create new ventures.

The "Fashion Forum Yerevan 2019"- already held as a traditional event, officially kicked off on June 25, in “Vordan Karmir” museum with fashion exhibition by Armenian designers titled: "Heritage". The collections of traditional garments, accessories, samples of Taraz (national costume) created by Armenian designers were presented at the exhibition to the visiting public and fashion lovers.
Supported by EU-SMEDA project, the Business Angels Network of Armenia (BANA) organised its second Business Investment Conference on June 11, 2019: “Two years winged: What’s next” gathering local and international business angels to share angel investment insights and to hear from one of the experienced international business angels and investors Maurice Verwee on topics like Angel investment in Armenia, due diligence and company valuation, investment management and more. It aimed also at presenting the achievements of BANA to the business angels and guests and plan for future activities based on recommendations and feedback received.
With the support of EU-SMEDA project, the second “Innovative ideas for tourism development in Armenia” Hackathon was successfully held on 18-19 May 2019 in Vanadzor, organised by Vanadzor Technology Center (VTC), the Enterprise Incubator Foundation and Lori region’s administration in cooperation with the Tourism Committee of the RA.
