International Forum ''Modelling Economics and Politics for optimal development'' held in Armenia
The International Forum on ''Modeling the Economy and Politics for optimal development''was successfully held in Yerevan, Armenia with international and national scientists and physicist who work on innovative modeling of economic theories, political and social behaviors, quantum theory of decision making, predicting financial risks and crisis, industrial research and development and more novel topics that could be applied and efficiently used in Armenia's economy. The event was supported by the European Union through its EU-SMEDA project.
Ambassador Switalski delivered welcoming remarks at the event, emphasizing the role and importance of the Big data and how it should be wisely used for economic modeling and predictions versus the mere control of the future. The Ambassador wished the participants effective and productive work with outcomes and models applicable for Armenia's economy.
A number of internatonal sceintists delivered intersting sessions sharing new developments and research results that are currently applied globally and could serve as basis for economic modeling and forcasting.
The event was attended by the Deputy PM Tigran Avinyan, RA Minister of Economic Development and Investments and RA Minister of Finance, state officials, scientists, economists and financial specialists, etc.

One of the most significant events in the startup ecosystem of Armenia: the traditionally held Sevan Startup Summit took place from July 28 – August 3, 2019 on the shores of the Lake Sevan. It had been supported by EU-SMEDA project for the third year in a row, given the vast impact and value it conveys to startup life of Armenia, revealing dozens of new and talented startups and creating opportunities for them for further growth, investment and expansion.
The "Fashion Forum Yerevan 2019"- already held as a traditional event, officially kicked off on June 25, in “Vordan Karmir” museum with fashion exhibition by Armenian designers titled: "Heritage". The collections of traditional garments, accessories, samples of Taraz (national costume) created by Armenian designers were presented at the exhibition to the visiting public and fashion lovers.
Supported by EU-SMEDA project, the Business Angels Network of Armenia (BANA) organised its second Business Investment Conference on June 11, 2019: “Two years winged: What’s next” gathering local and international business angels to share angel investment insights and to hear from one of the experienced international business angels and investors Maurice Verwee on topics like Angel investment in Armenia, due diligence and company valuation, investment management and more. It aimed also at presenting the achievements of BANA to the business angels and guests and plan for future activities based on recommendations and feedback received.
