Armenian designers @ Mercedes-Benz Fashion Days
With SMEDA's support, 12 Armenian designers participated at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Days held in Kiev, Ukraine from August 31 to September 3, 2017 and presented the Armenian fashion culture internationally, through the unique garments collections inspired by Armenian spirit and cultural elements.
SMEDA is supporting this initiative aiming at strengthening Economic Clusters and Networks in Armenia, and one of the priority directions that SMEDA is working on are the Creative Industries with among other topics design and garment industry being a promising field. The garments and textile production was once well-developed and prosperous in Armenia, SMEDA will combine its efforts with Armenian designers and the fashion industry to revive this sector in Armenia.
While presenting themselves in one of the prominent fashion events in Kiev, the Armenian designers had the chance for networking, learning and establishing international business contacts and most importantly presented Armenia and its fashion industry and creativity on an international stage with potential success cases to follow.

To highlight the significance of the upcoming "Fashion Forum Yerevan 2019" on June 25-29, 2019, a press conference was held at the RA Ministry of Economy jointly with the Tourism Committee of RA.
With the support of EU-SMEDA project, the second “Innovative ideas for tourism development in Armenia” Hackathon was successfully held on 18-19 May 2019 in Vanadzor, organised by Vanadzor Technology Center (VTC), the Enterprise Incubator Foundation and Lori region’s administration in cooperation with the Tourism Committee of the RA.
From April 15-19, 2019 the managers and leading staff of Enterprise Incubator Foundation and Armenian Technology centers: Gyumri Technology Center, Vanadzor Technology Center and Engineering City, visited Ljubljana’s Technology Park in Slovenia. The study visit aimed at learning and knowledge transfer on business support and innovation ecosystem environment in Technology park of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
