Business Club for Fashion & Design - a new platform for Armenian designers

The Business Club for Fashion and Design has become a reality thanks to the efforts of a group of young Armenian designers from the Fashion and Design Chamber jointly with the Business Club for Impact, supported by EU4Business Support to SME Development in Armenia SMEDA project. The club will serve as a platform for the development of the fashion and design cluster trough the introduction of new opportunities and tools, enhancement of capacities of the target groups who are fashion designers, startups and operating entrepreneurs from the sector as well as young individuals willing to enter and develop within the fashion and design segments. A set of activities has been planned and will be implemented in the course of this one-year project. The activities include (i) 8 PPD roundtables in cooperation with textile producers, online sales, importing and exporting regulations, etc.; (ii) the publication of an Online fashion and design magazine to promote Armenian designers locally and internationally; (iii) the development of a Fashion and Design Sector Development Strategy; (iv) Capacity development initiatives for the members of the club including trainings on the use of different social media for fashion designers, an English language course specially tailored for fashion industry representatives, fashion business management training, fashion collection development from A to Z, etc.; (v) and a two-day Fashion Forum in Yerevan with master classes held by international experts

At the launching event, where around 120 representatives of the sector gathered on February 24 2018, the organisers have announced the various upcoming capacity building trainings, for which the interested designers and individuals should become a club member. Online registration is possible through the following link: www.facebook.com/fashiondesignchamber/

As of February 26, 2018 one of the capacity development trainings is taking place: an inspiring and intensive training on Trend Forecasting with trend consultant Gwyneth Holland. The 25 participating fashion designers are introduced to current trends in fashion and beyond, are refining their abilities to foresee, plan and develop own trends and changing styles to create products that meet the needs of the markets and consumers.
